Intermittent Pneumatic Compression Improves Healing Of Venous Leg Ulcers

The treatment of venous leg ulcers is a frustrating undertaking for both patient and physician. An older technique has risen to the forefront again as a potential therapeutic tool. Studies have shown that intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) has a number of beneficial hemodynamic and hematologic effects on the extremity especially with regards to helping heal venous leg ulcers, which traditionally are very difficult and slow to heal.
